Let’s face it, your powder room is likely your most used bathroom in the house. And the bathroom all your guests see. Let’s talk about some ways to make that frequently used bathroom something you’re proud of. Some of these may even be DIY!

1. Walls Painting any area is an immediate facelift, this stands true to a powder room. Most of the time, powder rooms are on the interior of the house, meaning no windows/natural light, so choose a light and bright color for the walls. If your budget allows, you can add wallpaper, shiplap or tile to an accent wall for a custom feel.

2. Vanity/Countertop/Faucet Lots of different things you can do here to spice up that vanity and countertop area. If you’ve got a vanity you can simply paint it, add new hardware and faucet. Or if you have a pedestal sink or just simply don’t care for your current vanity, you can replace it entirely. Wayfair is a good place to look for vanities and most come with a countertop. Boom!

3. Mirror/Lighting After painting your walls, add new lighting and a mirror. Honestly by just painting, adding a new mirror and light will update the space tremendously, since that’s where your eye’s tend to go.

4. Floor Again, if your budget allows replacing the flooring will add that extra wow. It’s always fun to do some fun type of tile to distinguish the space.

5. Accessories Finish the space off with some accessories. Maybe some floating shelves, with greenery. New towel and toilet paper holder to match new faucet. A rug is a good way to bring a pop of color into the space as well. Replacing and upgrading the toilet might be high on your list as well. A comfort height toilet makes things much more comfortable!

As you can see there are many things you can do, on any budget to update your powder room. Most powder rooms are small, making it an easy and inexpensive update. Happy updating!
