About MSW Design & Monica Wood

I’m an Arizona native born and raised. I love living in Arizona for the hiking, amazing sunsets, and being close to my friends and family. I graduated from Northern Arizona State University in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in interior design and a minor in business management and CAD (Computer Aided Design). After graduating college, I worked for a high-end design firm in Scottsdale as a project manager and associate designer. During that time, I got married to my amazing husband and partner in life. After four years at my first design firm I switched companies and began working for an Arcadia based firm focused on custom homes and furnishings. During that time my family expanded and I had two beautiful children. As many moms do, I struggled with the balance of my career and raising a family. Although I LOVED my job, I took a step back and switched gears in order to spend more time at home with my young children. I decided to work part time in the fitness industry (as that is another passion of mine), while doing side jobs in design. Those side jobs grew over time and I established what is now MSW Design LLC in October of 2016. I specialize in designing and renovating all spaces within a home, as well as custom furniture pieces. When you hire me, you’re not only getting an experienced designer, you are getting a project manager as well. I oversee all projects from start to finish to ensure our vision comes to life.
