Moon Valley Remodel

Before & After

We were called by a lovely lady I have known for years. She wanted her home of 30+ years remodeled, gutted. She wanted to keep all of the memories of her family and children growing up in the house to remain in those walls, but wanted a new fresh update.

The updating started right as you walked inside the front door. To the left she had a sunken in room, that we filled to be level with existing floor. Underneath the staircase was just an empty, non functional space. We closed it in for storage, or grandkids play area. All new railings and banisters as well as stair treads and landings. We painted the ceiling white and beams dark stand out, rather than blend together. A new iron front door really made this entry way come together beautifully.

Next we are heading into the family room area. Out with the arched niches and in with the squared niches. We added these pretty wood shelves in for some storage to make the space functional. It’s amazing how much it can be opened up by taking out rounded openings. It’s so clean and so much more functional for the space.

The kitchen…unlike most kitchens, was already a pretty open concept. We just needed to come in and update and make it more functional. We added all new cabinets, with a spacious pantry and a larger island with more storage. We updated lighting, added pendants over the island and also added under cabinet lighting. Also, moving the microwave to the island and adding a statement piece stove hood.

Bathrooms were all torn apart, re-configured and updated. New cabinets and countertops, along with new functional lighting. Each shower was well thought, retiled and new plumbing fixtures installed. Each bathroom has finishing touches that just add that extra wow factor. Marble tile accents were the theme in each bathroom, with a porcelain tile as the main component. Each shower accent is slightly different from the others.

This home was a place where a family lived for over 30+ years and after a lot of love and memories, needed a fresh start. I am forever grateful to be able to help through the amazing transformation and connect with an amazing woman through it all. I do love creating beautiful spaces, but to me it’s much more than that; connecting with the family within the walls is a pure gift!
